Eyelid (Blepharoplasty) Surgery

What is Blepharoplasty?

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a procedure that removes excess tissue from the upper and/or lower eyelids, in turn smoothing and refining the remaining skin around the eyes.

Eyelid Surgery Candidates

The best candidates for eyelid surgery at Dr. Hetzler’s New Jersey practice are patients who feel that their eyes are excessively puffy or tired-looking.

Transconjunctival Eyelid Surgery

For patients who experience bags under the eyes but have no significant wrinkling, our New Jersey practice can perform blepharoplasty using the “transconjunctival” approach (where an incision is made on the inside of the eyelid). This approach allows us to remove the excess fat that causes the baggy appearance, with no external incisions.
