At Dr. Hetzler’s practice we offer The SkinCeuticals Micropeel. This three-step procedure combines dermaplaning, chemical exfoliation, and cryogenic therapy to treat skin issues such as fine lines, wrinkles, dull skin tone, and other imperfections. The full treatment runs over a series of four to six sessions.
The micropeel is formulated with niacin, lactic acid, and usnic acid. The peel is of mild strength and is intended to gently exfoliate the skin while clearing the pores.
The micropeel
Our staff administers the micropeel in a specific procedure created by SkinCeuticals.
It is a three-step process. First, the peel solution is applied to the target area and let stay on the skin for two minutes. We then use dry soft gauze to buff the skin. Finally, the entire area is rinsed thoroughly with soft damp gauze.
Different options
We can also change the procedure, either substituting a different peel formulation or adding a balancing mask.
Glycolic acid — In this variation, we use either a 20%, 30%, or 50% glycolic acid solution for the micropeel. This helps reduce the primary signs of photo aging: fine lines, wrinkles, and dull skin. It combines manual exfoliation, chemical exfoliation, and cryogenic therapy.
Salacylic acid — In this variation, we use a 20% or 30% salicylic acid micropeel. This is great for reducing acne. This process only involves the chemical exfoliation.
Pigment balancing mask — In addition to the micropeel listed above, we also add a pigment-balancing mask. This helps improve hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone.
