Eyelid Surgery (blepharoplasty)

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is a procedure that removes excess tissue from the upper and/or lower eyelids, in turn smoothing and refining the remaining skin around the eyes. The best candidates for eyelid surgery at Dr. Hetzler's New Jersey practice are patients who feel that their eyes are excessively puffy or tired-looking.

For patients who experience bags under the eyes but have no significant wrinkling, our New Jersey practice can perform blepharoplasty using the "transconjunctival" approach (where an incision is made on the inside of the eyelid). This approach allows us to remove the excess fat that causes the baggy appearance, with no external incisions.

Prominent Ear Correction Surgery (otoplasty)

Otoplasty is a procedure designed to correct protruding ears. When ears protrude, they can adversely affect self-esteem, especially that of children and young adults. Otoplasty is most commonly performed on patients between the ages of five and fourteen, but adults may undergo the procedure as well.

Otoplasty, also known as ear pinning, begins with incisions made behind the ears. A small amount of cartilage is removed or reshaped; then, remaining cartilage is sutured into place, pulling the ears closer to the head. The procedure is extremely effective - quickly and safely improving both appearance and self-confidence.
